Metal can feel more premium, but acetate can be more comfortable for long wear. Forums, blogs and communities create a kind of collective memory for shoppers. Some care only about style, others focus on comfort and durability. Now I try to read as many real user reviews as possible before I buy anything. I think it is better to build a small collection of reliable products than to buy random cheap things.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

It is interesting to see how different people value different aspects of a product. Each material has advantages and disadvantages depending on season and activity. I have learned to avoid items that look extremely different in every product photo. I try to look for real photos of the insoles and soles, not only the outside of the shoe. Having a tracking number that works on common sites is very convenient.
Just sharing my personal feedback.
